'the little group' has an established reputation of some 18 years as a national leader in the field of preschool provision for children with an autistic spectrum disorder and complex communication disorders. We are a specialist registered nursery and are delighted to be established in home at St Andrew's Primary School, Cobham, Surrey. We admit children aged 2 to 6 years with difficulties in:-

  • Social interaction
  • Communication
  • Poor imaginative play and rigid thinking

Children may also have difficulties in areas such as poor attention, challenging behaviour and have issues with anxiety.

'the little group' method

Here at 'the little group', we provide services for around 70 children divided across the school year. Our renowned teaching method -'the little group' Approach - is focused on engaging and motivating children through fun activities that are meaningful to them, as children with social communication difficulties are often tough to reach through traditional methods of teaching.

At 'the little group', our children learn the skills to engage and learn in a happy and relaxed environment. We achieve this by fully integrating the disciplines of speech and language therapy and teaching into one very unique and innovative communication based curriculum. We strongly believe that true learning affects the way in which our children think and understand the world.

Our Mission

At 'the little group', we aspire to continue our lead in the field of providing high quality early intervention to children with an autistic spectrum disorder and to their families. We also aim to inspire the practice of others and believe that sharing our methods benefits many more children. As such, we have developed 'the little group' Approach Training which is very hands-on and designed for parents and practitioners across all related professions.
