1. Learning Support Assistants (Fixed term contract)
To commence March/ April to 20th July 2012
Salary: £14,000 to £16,000 per annum
dependant on skills and experience

We are looking to recruit Learning Support Assistants to join our primary school team.
The position will involve:

  • Supporting Class teachers to offer a broad based appropriate curriculum
  • Assisting with the supervision of children in outside classroom activities e.g. meal times and recreation times

We are looking for Learning Support Assistants who have:

  • an NVQ qualification or equivalent
  • an understanding of/interest in autism
  • experience of working within a school would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.
  • Experience of working with children is essential.

Hours will be Monday to Thursday 8.15am to 4.00pm and Friday 8.15am to 3.30pm, during term time only.

An enhanced CRB Disclosure will be requested upon appointment.

2. Assistant Psychologist (equivalent to NHS AfC Band 4)
(to start May/June 2012)
Salary £18,402 – £21,798 (plus London weighting)
depending on experience

We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist who has two or more year’s experience, ideally school based.
Previous experience working with children and young people with autism and challenging behaviour is essential.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic graduate psychologist (or equivalent experience) and will work as part of our in-house Curriculum Access Team (CAT) which incorporates speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and music therapy. We have developed our own unique approach to teaching and learning designed specifically for children on the autistic spectrum. ‘The Eagle House Approach’ is based on a combination of best practice, experience, and innovation.

As Assistant Psychologist you would work closely with other members of the CAT, parents and other professionals. The post holder will be required to:

  • carry out assessments
  • devise and implement behaviour support plans
  • monitor and report on progress
  • and participate in in-service training

It is envisaged that the person appointed will have the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to demonstrate good practice working with colleagues in the classroom.

Hours will be 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday 8.15am to 4.15pm.

1.Special Needs Teacher (Secondary)
Main Pay Scale (Inner London + SEN 1)
Starting March/April 2012

We are seeking to recruit an experienced trained Special Needs Teacher (possessing QTS) for our 'Steps' provision who is qualified and/or experienced in working with pupils with an autistic spectrum disorder (including Asperger's Syndrome), social communication difficulties and challenging complex needs.

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • is conscientious, committed and enjoys a challenge
  • has a sense of humour
  • is forward thinking and imaginative
  • has experience of working with ASD/special needs
  • wishes to develop their skills and knowledge
  • is able to use their previous knowledge and skills to take the lead across the school in a subject area
  • working with a multidisciplinary team to develop innovative learning packages which support the Eagle House Approach
  • is interested in working in a progressive, lively and successful school in a rewarding field of education

We are seeking to appoint a second Higher Level Teaching Assistant at Eagle House School (Sutton), who is motivated and enthusiastic, to join our team.
