Autism Directory Service - a great site packed full of information that will assist you in dealing with autism.

Autism File - a quarterly magazine dealing with all aspects of autism written by: parents, doctors, consultants, teachers and anyone in the field of autism who has anything to say on any subject concerning autism.

Autism UK - a treasure trove of sites about many aspects of work with children and young people with autism, including TEACCH, social stories, and training courses.

Autism and Structured Teaching - a very interesting site from Northern Ireland which gives an overview and practical classroom suggestions for those teaching children with autistic spectrum disorders. 

'Every Child Matters' Agenda - Every Child Matters is a shared programme of change to improve outcomes for all children and young people. It takes forward the Government's vision of radical reform for children, young people and families.

National Autistic Society - the home page of the NAS whose site includes information about autism and Asperger syndrome, and about support and services available in the UK.

National Curriculum - The Government states that "Teachers, parents, employers, the media and the public should all see the curriculum as something to embrace, support and celebrate. Most of all, young people should relish the opportunity for discovery and achievement that the curriculum offers."

PECS- information about the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) which is a very effective system for augmented communication for children and adults with communication difficulties.

Public Autism Awareness - an informative web site for for parents and carers, siblings, teachers, and the wider public.

Richmond Music Trust - Richmond Music Trust has very skilled and knowledgeable music therapists who have undertaken some outstandingly effective work with children with autistic spectrum disorders at Eagle House School.

Special Educational Needs Information - a very helpful site with lots of information about benefits, holiday schemes, advocacy for parents of children with special educational needs.

TEACCH - a link to Division TEACCH at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; this website includes helpful educational advice and guidance for those interested in TEACCH.
